September Mission Offering: The Opportunity Center

This is the time of year that we take our special offering to serve the needs of the homeless in our own community. The Opportunity Center, located on Encina Avenue in Palo Alto, operates under the umbrella organization called Life Moves, formerly InnVision Shelter Network.

Their mission statement states that the “Opportunity Services Center accomplishes its mission to serve the needs of the homeless and those at-risk in the Mid-peninsula area by providing: the Adult Services Center for singles with a wide range of services from laundry and lockers, to computers and counseling; the Bredt Family Center for families with small children, providing a broad range of services to help with basic human needs, as well as enabling people to find stability and housing. The Opportunity Health Center provides primary care, mental health care, case management, and other supportive services to both adults and children. The Opportunity Center operates both as a service to the wider community by providing creative responses to homeless-related problems, and engaging the community in service to meet those needs in a positive, caring environment, where promoting the innate dignity of every person is the highest concern.”

This is our opportunity to support the good work of the Opportunity Center which provides the supports for those in need. Our goal this year is $600.
