Our Joys and Concerns for this week include:

  • Birthday Joys: Bryace Johnson (May 28)
  • Kathy Gillam for all those affected by the Santa Fe, Texas, massacre, with a prayer for change
  • Sachiko Berry for their co-housing community as they mourn the death of their member, Kate, with gratitude for her life
  • Chip Clark for his landlady, Carlene, who is in rehab
  • For Thelma Tuttle who will be having gall bladder surgery soon
  • For Eileen Conover who is at home recovering from hip surgery
  • For Ron Fredlund who fell and scraped his head
  • For Andy Kille who is dealing with terminal cancer
  • For our neighbors that we may find ways to live peacefully with them
  • For Don, Dustin, and Dylan Ha as they deal with the difficulties of serious water damage to their home
  • For all the good work of the Baptist Peace Fellowship of North America/Bautistas por la paz

  • Kathy Gillam for lovely baby shower for Julia and Micah with 20 friends who brought favorite children’s books
  • Melanie Ramirez for the opportunity to volunteer with Clara at the “kitten nursery” on Sunday mornings; for a good time at the Stanford Pow Wow
  • For Thelma Tuttle who will be having gall bladder surgery soon
  • For Eileen Conover who is at home recovering from hip surgery
  • For Ron Fredlund who fell and scraped his head
  • Chip Clark for Charlie who was ill with a virus

  • Kathy Gillam for her daughter, Julia, who will soon go on maternity leave from teaching middle school in Fremont
  • Laurie Cudworth and Dan who are expecting their first grandchild – “It’s a girl!”; and then a week in Palm Springs
  • Melanie Ramirez for her brother, Darren, on his birthday last Monday
  • For Ron Fredlund and the family friends of Mary Martin who died on Monday
  • Carolyn Shepard for Steven who has started a new job; for his friend who is homeless
  • For Eileen Conover as she prepares for hip surgery on Thursday, April 28
  • For the people of Nicaragua with the unrest there
  • For our neighbors that we may find ways to live peacefully with them

Our Joys and Concerns for this week include:

  • Kathy Gillam for Pastor Rick and the extra work he has put in on the church’s CUP application
  • Laurie Cudworth and Dan who are expecting their first grandchild – “It’s a girl!”; and then a week in Palm Springs
  • Paul Berry who would like for us to have a “serious sparking problem” on Sunday morning
  • Melanie Ramirez for a great time hanging out with the “Lunch Bunch” last Sunday and sharing; for her family as their dog, Adam, is very ill
  • For Ron and the family friends of Mary Martin who died on Monday
  • Chip Clark for Carolyn Shepard who had to leave early to be with Steven and a friend she’s been helping
  • For Eileen Conover as she prepares for hip surgery later this month
  • For our neighbors that we may find ways to live peacefully with them
  • For Don, Dustin, and Dylan Ha as they deal with the difficulties of serious water damage to their home

  • Melanie Ramirez for the joy of singing with her mother and the Community Gospel Choir at the Good Friday service at Old Missionary Baptist Church in East Palo Alto
  • Dona Smith-Powers for Larry and her as they travel to the Yurok Indian Reservation to help build a playground and deliver supplies collected; thanks to those who provided supplies
  • For James Poe as he travels in Israel next week with some other musicians
  • Lois Ville shared Eileen Conover’s concern for her cousin, Karen, in Solvang who is dealing with an eating disorder; for Eileen as she prepares for hip surgery later this month
  • For all those affected by the shooting at Yahoo yesterday
  • For all those affected by the police shooting of Stephon Clark in Sacramento
  • For our neighbors that we may find ways to live peacefully with them
  • For Don, Dustin, and Dylan Ha as they deal with the difficulties of serious water damage to their home
  • For all the good work supported by our annual America for Christ offering; remembering the Hunwicks as we raise money for scholarships at ABSW and for the good work of the school

  • For the excellent leadership of Doug Avilesbernal and all who participated in our All Church Family Conversation last weekend
  • Melanie Ramirez for Daniel who has been accepted into the summer camp for the Pioneers, a marching group in Wisconsin, where he will spend two months this summer
  • Carolyn Shepard for the responsive young woman she has been able to help over the last couple of weeks with a place to live and help turning her life around
  • Pastor Gregory for Mosaic potluck on Tuesday; for his sister, Lauren, just out of detox and his mother, Carol with health concerns; for a good conversation with his father, David
  • Nana Spiridon for Alex who has pneumonia; for Liza who just announced her engagement
  • For James Poe as he travels in Israel next week with some other musicians
  • For all those affected by the school shooting in Florida and for an end to gun violence; for those young people who will be leading marches for gun control all across the country this Saturday
